Wild Nights at Adelaide Zoo
Be awakened by the roar of lions and the jungle calls of gibbons!
Wild Nights is the exciting overnight program at Adelaide Zoo, where you sleep in tents under the stars, overlooking the spectacular sights of the Zoo, the River Torrens and the parklands.
The tents contain camping mattresses, but participants bring their own pillows and sleeping bags.
The program commences at 6.30pm in the evening and finishes at 9am the next morning. During the night, there will be the chance to have an Animal Encounter, enjoy a delicious evening meal, night walks around the Zoo and a camping experience on the rooftop garden of the Westpac Enviro Dome.
The next morning, you will eat a healthy continental breakfast and have an animal experience before being able to visit the Zoo for the rest of day at your leisure.
Wild Nights nights are available for up to 20 people in 3 formats:
- Family Nights (for adults and children aged 5-17)
- Adults-only Nights (must be over 18 years of age)
- Exclusive Nights: An exclusive Wild Nights can be booked for your special group only. A minimum of 17 people is required for an Exclusive booking. Break out rooms are available at a small cost for training sessions for corporate groups.
Children must be accompanied by a supervising parent, with no more than 3 children attending per supervising adult.
Wild Nights is run by two trained Wild Nights hosts.
This is a camping experience. Toilets are available, but there are minimal showering facilities. Wheelchair facilities available. No power in tents.
Guests will require a certain level of fitness to join both the evening and morning walks; guests are not allowed to stay behind at the campsite.

2 person tent = $350 (non-members) / $310 (members)
3 person tent = $525 (non-members) / $465 (members)
Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
- Cancellations will not incur a refund; reallocation to another available night only
- Transfers to an alternate date must be made no less than 14 days prior to the camp date.
- Wild Nights is an all weather program; however Adelaide Zoo may choose to cancel specific camp dates due to inclement weather or insufficient bookings. Whenever possible, guests will be notified in advance and dates rescheduled, or full payment will be refunded.
