Reduce your Carbon Footprint
Conservation Ark is dedicated to the conservation and expansion of the fragile Mallee habitat at Monarto Zoo. To this end, staff, volunteers and support organisations have planted over 120,000 local native plant species. These plantings not only protect the natural biodiversity of the area, but also help reduce our carbon footprint.
You can be involved in this important environmental program in a number of ways:
- Volunteer with the “Mallee Minders”, a dedicated group who meet weekly to assist with seed collection, propagation, weeding, planting and watering.
- Groups and organisations can volunteer as a great team building exercise.
- Make a donation to our carbon offset program. This helps ensure revegetation works can continue to grow. It also assists the conservation of threatened plant species, like the Monarto Mintbush and the Silver Leaved Daisy (to name a few!)
Please contact Monarto Zoo on 08 8534 4100 if you or your organisation would like to be involved.
