"MAD" Action Program

MAD (Making a Difference)

GOING MAD is about taking action towards a better world. It is about Making a Difference. Our actions have an impact on more than what we see. The MAD REALITY is with our decisions and actions we really can MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Monarto Zoo challenges you to GO MAD. We invite you to join forces with us as MAD supporters for ourselves, our families, our class at school, our wider community and ultimately THE WORLD we all live in!

You can be MAD at School connecting to the zoo and taking action from your classroom. You can also go MAD at the Zoo by incorporating the great work you are doing in the classroom with a visit to the zoo.

You can be MAD if you participate in a day, overnight, unassisted or community program. Everyone can be MAD!

ZooTube (All Year Levels)

A competition with a difference: create, film and edit a conservation video to help educate other students around the world. You could WIN your school an editing suite. Click here for more information.

Wild Toys (all Year Levels)

Design and make enrichment toys for our zoo animals to make their days interesting and full of fun.

My African Link (Yr 4 - 10)

Link with students like you in Zimbabwe and Zambia. Share stories and insights of life in your world. Collect, make and send resources for their schools.

Growing Green (all Year Levels)

Become builders for our wildlife from the seed up. You can help Monarto by propagating and nurturing trees to plant at the zoo and create new habitat for our native animals.

Mealworm Breeding (K - Yr 4)

Use the breeding of mealworms to study an insect life cycle and provide supplementary food for Bilbies and Meerkats.

Program includes a set up and harvest lesson in your classroom with a Zoo Educator. The process is simple and hands on. Hire a kit and see how fun insects can be.
