Overnight Programs

Overnight programs are available 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) for a maximum of 35 students (minimum of 15). An overnight educator remains onsite with your group and runs the evening component of the program.

Your bus MUST stay at the zoo, including overnight, with your group to adhere to the safety protocols of the zoo and to ensure full program opportunities. A separate sleeping quarters is available for the bus driver.  Please ensure that your Bus company receives a copy of the protocols for travelling around Monarto Zoo. Buses must have air conditioning and a microphone for the tour host for your guided tour. Double Deckers, concertina buses and high top buses are not acceptable buses for a tour. Buses must have minimum 22 seats to be able to enter the lion exhibit.

Overnights are based at Indaba Bush Camp. The campsite provides basic facilities and promotes a sense of community and challenges thinking of human impacts in a global context. The campsite is suitable for all ages, is a self-catered site and requires you to bring your own bedding. For a list of the venue facilities, please download the Indaba Bush Camp.

We welcome site inspections prior to your visit

A portion of the program fee is donated to conservation education opportunities for local students in Zimbabwe and Zambia to learn about the value of African wildlife and how to protect it. Annually this is a significant contribution to global education and we thank you for your support.
