< BackA Busy Day For Us All Once Again
Hi all
You haven’t heard from me for a while but I will try and update you on some of the happenings in the health centre.
Last Monday, we were busy checking our carnivore section including our female sealion ‘Ady’ after her anaesthetic for her contraceptive implant and eye surgery on Friday the previous week. Things are progressing well so that is great news.
We also checked our lion ‘Mujumbi’ who is trialling some changes in a long term treatment. Kemiri, our female tiger, also was assessed on whether or not to continue her progesterone injections to suppress her oestrus cycles. This is to try and take our male’s interest away from her and towards the female, Assiqua, that he is meant to be breeding with.
Wayne was busy with wallaby health checks , including checking one of new brush footed rock wallaby and microchipping it.
Later that afternoon, Dianne and I gave zoo staff a run down on our recent visit to China for Giant Panda training. I then headed off to Gribbles and Repromed to run through Giant Panda hormone analysis and vaginal smear interpretations.
So it's a busy day for us all once again...!
