As part of the 2012 Earth Hour celebration Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary will be ‘switching off’ by holding a candlelit dinner and nocturnal walk in support of the global movement.

The package offers Adelaide Hills residents a chance to participate in Earth Hour, which during the 2011 celebrations saw hundreds of millions of people worldwide switch off their lights for an hour.

Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary Manager Tania Stow said the event is the perfect opportunity for a unique dining experience in support of a great cause. 

“Earth Hour is all about encouraging positive action to raise awareness and inspire individuals to work towards creating a better environment,” Ms. Stow said.

Guests will begin the evening with entrée and mains followed by a guided nocturnal walk through the sanctuary. Upon their return to the restaurant guests will ‘switch-off’ to enjoying a candlelit dessert.

Nocturnal walks explore the Sanctuary’s native bush tracks, while visitors go in search of a variety of wildlife including platypus, wallabies, kangaroos, bandicoots, bettongs, potoroos and possums.

“Warrawong really comes alive after dark and platypus sightings are a regular occurrence!” Ms. Stow said.  

The Earth Hour Dinner and Nocturnal Walk package includes a delicious three course meal and nocturnal walk, all for $80 per person. Dinner includes a bottle of Coriole Conservation Ark Sangiovese with every booking.
