Little Lion Cub
The cub is much more mobile now and being seen out of the den most days, which has the other lionesses intrigued. They can’t access it yet but are certainly interested. It has also been seen from a distance by a lucky few visitors, viewing it from the lion exhibit on their bus tour.
It walks around through grass half its height with utmost confidence and independence, playing and learning what being a lion is all about – but mostly playing! Mum, Kiamba is still never far away, and this is a learning curve for her too. She is making sure the cub is never hungry, and always clean. She is the perfect guardian.
All is going exactly to plan and we are all counting down to the cub’s health check as this will also be the day that we can confirm if it is a male or female. And then the fun begins in deciding a name for the little one.
