Our female rhino, Umqali, gave birth to a male calf, which we found looking adorable and strong on the morning of ANZAC day.

All is going well so far and we hope to have him and mum on exhibit shortly. Stay tuned!

Hi, very exciting news as i will hopefully see them next month with zoo youth and they are my favourite animal. Just curious, is the father Satara or Ibutho? and is this the fith white rhino now at monarto zoo (Satara, Ibutho, Uhura, Umqali and the calf) or are there more?

To honour his birthday,Anzac day, could we name him Kokoda?

As I was flicking through the today's Herald Sun, I came across baby baby Zac (his nickname) for now. What a awesome looking baby Rhino. I have several pictures of Rhino's, I have even got two stuffed Rhinos. I had two I'n my car!!!!
I was even fortunate to touch Leroy's at Werribee Zoo 2 years ago. It was the best birthday present I received. If I get a chance again to get up close & personal with these awesome animals I will be in Heaven.
