Isa and Obel
Our Bandicoot sisters now have names, courtesy of B. Oakes from Aberfoyle Park, who suggested Isa and Obel after their scientific names (Isoodon obesulus obesulus).
And Isa and Obel have definitely grown up! They have left their inside nursery and now live in a large enclosure which they have made their own. Their digging practice is being put to good use, with dozens of little cone shaped holes found every morning.
As they have grown up they have become a lot more affectionate and will come straight up to the keeper for a pat and a mealworm or two. The sisters seem to be getting along just fine with each other and are often found huddled together in a nest of hay. Bandicoots thick fur enables them to keep cozy and warm in winter but it also helps having your sister next to you for body warmth!
Cheers
