Asia exhibits temporarily closed
Our Asia exhibits will be closed from 15-24th February due to spraying of potato weed, an introduced weed that is highly toxic if eaten.
Many other animals can still be seen at Monarto Zoo including lions, hyaenas, chimps, cheetahs, giraffes, barbary sheep, and many more!

Opening Hours
The Zoo is open from 9.30am - 5pm every day of the year, except in the case of extreme weather. (See note below).
Please note: Entry into Monarto Zoo is not permitted after 3:15pm
Zu-loop shuttles to wildlife viewing platforms run at regular intervals throughout the day. More information on tours can be found on the Tours page.
Keeper Talks commence from 11.00 am
Some activities are presented by our keeper staff. Please note that due to weather or animal management considerations, some talks may be cancelled without notice. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Monarto Zoo is easily a full day experience. We recommend you arrive early to make the most of your visit. A minimum of 4-5 hours is recommended.
Note: If the forecast temperature for Monarto is 40 degrees or above Monarto will be closed.
