Hairy Nose, Itchy Butt
Hairy Nose. Itchy Butt is a new picture book that will delight both children and adults alike. Written by South Australian Author Elizabeth Frankel, and beautifully illustrated by internationally renowned South Australian artist, Garry Duncan, this book highlights the problems of a diminishing habitat for SA’s faunal emblem, the Southern Hairy Nosed Wombat.
Garry’s paintings epitomize the South Australian landscapes, in which this story is set, and the pictures tell a tale of repeated loss of habitat for so many of our South Australian critters.
This story has a real environmental message, but is also a lot of fun, with its infectious rhyme and rhythm, and a critter to look for on every page.
Ever had an itch you couldn’t scratch? Hairy Nosed wombat has one, and somebody has chopped down his scratching tree. Join our marsupial hero on an itchity, scratchity adventure as he tries to find the perfect place to scratch his butt.
Itchity, scratchity, grumble and groan.
A shudder and shake, a snort and a moan.
A grunt and a huff, and a spitterly splut.
"I really need to scratch my butt."
