Hopes for hippos in the 2022 Zoos SA Online Auction

Tuesday 1 – 15 February 2022

Many of you will have fond memories of seeing hippos Brutus and Susie at Adelaide Zoo. Some of you will have grown up watching them and perhaps brought your own children and friends to see and learn from these hefty herbivores.

While Brutus and Susie are no longer with us, we still hold our memories and hopes for the species very close to our hearts. That’s why, we are hoping to introduce them to the waterholes and expansive plains of Monarto Safari Park.

Our vision will inspire a new generation to love this vulnerable species and become invested in their long-term survival in the wild.

But to see hippos on the horizon, we will need additional staff and to build facilities to accommodate them. That’s where you come in.

Please help us by taking part in this year’s online auction! Bid on luxury retreats, memorabilia, never-before-offered experiences and more incredible items, and help us turn hopes to reality and play a part in safeguarding the future of this magnificent species.
