The Board plays a vital part in overseeing the affairs of The Royal Zoological Society of South Australia Inc (RZSSA) and setting the strategic directions for Zoos South Australia.

Nominations are now sought from interested and suitably qualified members to fill two (2) Board positions that will become vacant as at the Annual General Meeting to be held on Thursday, 19 November 2026.

In accordance with the Rules of the Society  (available for perusal on our website www.zoossa.com.au) the current terms on the Board of Ms House AM and Mr McCarthy conclude this year, however they are eligible for re-election. The Board aims to achieve a balance of skills and experience and are pleased with the make-up of the current Board. If there were any additional skills of interest for the future it would be conservation, research and marketing.

If you are interested in nominating for the Board, or wish to nominate another member of the Society, please contact Holly Tonissen via email to boardelection@zoossa.com.au for a copy of the nomination form and details of the nomination procedure. Please use NOMINATION REQUEST as your subject line of your email.

Nominations for the position of Elected Board Member must be accompanied by a written curriculum vitae, a colour photograph suitable for publication, an application letter of no more than 250 words to be provided electronically along with a signed Society pro-forma statement acknowledging any real or perceived conflict of interest that could affect the candidate’s ability to perform their duties as a Board Member. Nominees must be at least 18 years of age and have been a continuous financial member of the Society for no less than 12 months as at the 31 August 2026.

Closing date for nominations is 5:00pm on Monday, 31 August 2026.

Notice of Annual General Meeting

Members are advised that the Annual General Meeting of the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia Inc. will be held in the Fig Tree Function Centre at the Adelaide Zoo on Thursday, 19 November 2026. The event will be held from 6.45pm with the AGM commencing at 7.00pm sharp. Special presentations from key Zoos SA personnel will also be included.

The Annual Report including the 2026 audited financial reports will be available for download from the Zoos SA website (www.zoossa.com.au) as of Thursday, 5 November 2026. Hard copies will be available on request from that date.
