Help Name our Macaw!

Our spectacular young Blue and Gold Macaw needs a name and we need your help to find it!

The beautiful boy was born on 28 May 2014 and was hand-reared by the Bird Team.

When he’s fully grown it’s hoped that he will star in our animal presentations. To achieve this, he’s currently spending lots of time with zoo keepers in the Children’s Zoo who are using methods of positive reinforcement (rewarding him when he does a positive behaviour such as: flying to a station, stepping up onto an arm, etc.) to get him ready for the limelight.

Blue and Gold Macaws hail from the wild jungles of South America where they are easily distinguished by their bright colouring.

Suggest a befitting name with a South American flair and your reason behind it to go in the draw to win a family pass to Adelaide Zoo to visit this beauty.

Please note, this event has now closed.
