I have been getting into journaling and self-reflecting a lot more recently. It’s a way to fully understand a situation I have going on and if I’m overanalysing or worrying too much. Walking along West Cape in Innes National Park, I got a lot of time to self-reflect. It was an opportunity for me to rethink specific situations that I have been involved with since the start of this year. Watching the restless ocean collide against the rocks, in total isolation, I stopped thinking. All I could focus on was the cool sea breeze floating through my hair, the sea spray lightly hitting my skin and how beautiful this world can be. I could have watched that landscape for hours. It was breathtaking. Only three words travelled through my head; this is beautiful. It made me realise that the year I just had, full of highs and lows, built up to this moment. I was meant to see this landscape and it was meant to show me that no matter what happens, there is always an opportunity to learn from it. What a beautiful way to end the chaotic year I had doing Year 12
