Conservation Sisters Forever

I was so lucky to be able to share my family and my home with the four Zambian girls, when I hosted them for two nights and a day of Tisamale. For the day we spent together, we drove to Kangaroo Island with my parents, enjoying our time with the glorious backdrop of South Australia’s famous island.
Together we admired expansive oceans, marvelled at cute (and chubby) fur seals and saw wild kangaroos, koalas and echidnas! Despite the magnificent nature scenes we saw that day, by far the best moment was the journey home. We played hangman and other word games, told jokes and shared stories the whole way back to Adelaide; it felt like we had known each other our entire lives. We talked about our history, our aspirations and our goals – not letting the dark of night dim our conversation. Even though I might never get to share time like that again with them after they return to Mfuwe, I know we’ll be conservation sisters forever.
