Zoos SA
Zoos SA is a non-government conservation charity, every visit, adoption, donation and ticket helps to save species from extinction.

From a MATZ point of view

The most rewarding part of being one of the Mentors at the Zoo is being able to meet all of the Youth at the Zoo members, and seeing how well they interact with both each other and the program. As someone who has been part of the YATZ program since the beginning, I am consistently impressed with how dedicated the 2018 YATZ members are to the program.

Every time I have been involved in a workshop or camp I have been so pleased to see how well everyone seems to get along and include everyone in the YATZ family. Everyone has different talents, skills, interests, and personalities, and it has been (and continues to be) a privilege to find out about these different facets. Despite these differences, the love of animals and nature unites us all together. Between meetings, members of the team share conservation experiences they have had and knowledge they have gained.

The purpose of YATZ is to give young people the skills and knowledge needed to become conservation leaders. But even more importantly, it introduces these future leaders to one another, allowing them to build off each other’s strengths to make a difference in the world. Even though the team has only met a few times since the beginning of the year, simply by watching the group it is made clear that this year’s YATZ will soon form the strongest and most supportive team yet.
