On our three-day resilience camp, the MATZ worked with Jasmine , a ranger who works in Natural Resources for the Northern and Yorke Region. Jaz’s knowledge of the ins and outs of Innes was astounding, and it was clear that she cared about conservation for the entire park; from the flora to the fauna. Jaz kindly took me with her in her ute on two days to lay fox baits along one of the fire tracks that runs through the park. Using existing markers laid every 500m and GPS coordinates, we would lay a new bait, remove any remaining baits and zip-tie a new label to the marker for future reference. She emphasised how important making good connections was to achieving great things for conservation, as when working with the community it allowed every voice to be heard and shared interests to become clear.
