Just like the different species that create balance and helps its surroundings thrive; together, each of our own individual difference make our world just a bit better.
Behind the Scenes in the Natives Department we were in different groups and worked in different areas. In those groups we learned to work as a team by understanding our individual strengths and choosing roles to play that accord to our differences. Some continuously shoveled into each bucket that were delivered, some stayed and helped create the mound for the tortoises and dispersed dirt, and others constantly came back and forth carrying buckets full of dirt. On that first day of camp, we kept pushing through even though our arms ended up having to carry only a single bucket, we continued because we knew how hard every one of us was working.
In the end we were rewarded with the up-close sight of the tortoises amusingly munching on lettuce. We learned that the mound and dirt we delivered would help the tortoises use their muscles, just as pegging lettuce on a clothes line would develop their neck muscle due to currently not being in the wild.
Together that day we made the world just a bit better.
