Launching our campaign

Our campaign kicked off with a wonderful start, with the first day on the 28th of October resulting in 145 flags sold! The MATZ worked this day, having a great time spreading the message of Tisamale too to anyone interested! Huge thanks to all the staff and volunteers at Monarto that came to have a look and support us on our opening day!
We are looking forward to the YATZ being involved in the campaign for the next few weeks while they are on school holidays. Our aim is to spread the passionate youth voice of YATZ and MATZ as far as we can!
The Monarto Safari Park Visitor’s Centre has been brightly adorned with our chitenge flags, with over 50 metres of 14 strands with each pattern representing one of the 14 students that will be travelling to Australia next April. It took the MATZ and YATZ 4 long nights at Monarto to put up all the flags, and we were joined by many supportive families and friends who gave us a hand. Massive thanks to all that came out to help and be a part of Tisamale too.
To back up our message, our campaign has taken over a part of the wall in the bistro with a giant poster which tells all about Tisamale. The poster shows the distance between Mfuwe and Adelaide, and will allow us to track our progress over the month.
The campaign now has its own Instagram frame which will be floating around the Zoo so visitors can take their picture with the frame and share it to social media with our own special hashtag, #tisamaletoo, helping us to generate a greater following for the campaign.
Check out the hashtag on Instagram or follow our events page on the Monarto Safari Park Facebook page to stay updated on Tisamale too!

This is Zoos SA’s first youth driven campaign and I am proud to be a part of it.
