As I stepped off the bus my heart pounded with excitement and a touch of fear. The moon glowed brightly down upon everyone who looked up at it. With every intake of cool fresh air, my fears faded away. There I was lying down staring up at the star filled sky. Thinking of all the people and animals that were doing the same. I was mesmerized….. by the moon, the stars, and an urge to fall asleep under the beautiful glowing night sky. I felt peace, just lying down in this one spot, there was nowhere quite like this. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Birds twitted over the sound of silence as they went off to sleep. The light breeze filtered through the tall grass and distant trees. The stars shone brightly in the cool night sky. Unknown animal noises filled my ears. Suddenly, my communion with nature came to an end. The headlights of the bus flashed into view and the hum of the bus’s engine filled me with a sense of excitement. The doors opened, and I stepped onto the bus everyone buzzing with the energy and recounting their own unique experiences and then we went back to our camp fire.
