Before our dedicated MATZ embarked on their journey to Zambia, the YATZ took to writing letters for the members of the conservation club. We each took a clipboard with a name on it and started writing. I loved seeing everyone so excited! People were swapping questions to ask and helping when writers block struck down someone’s flow. At the end of the session we all handed our letters over and eagerly speculated about the replies we would get.
When… the next YATZ meeting finally came around the whole group was buzzing from the second the letter were mentioned. One by one we each received our replies, and the room filled with excited chatter, laughter and so many ‘Aww!’s. Everyone was swapping letters and talking about their pen-pals so fondly, it was heart-warming and the atmosphere was beautiful. The girl I wrote to is named Ruth. She loves learning about geography and how the world works! Ruth really wants to make a difference to the animals of Zambia. Part of her letter is shown in this picture below, and I can never get enough of it!
