More about the exhibition...
Wilderness Journey
by Igora Lucyna Opala
Igora describes herself as an author of wool, her handwork transforming the dream-like quality of fluffy wool into tactile expressions of her own thoughts and stories. Igora attributes her work to a lifelong passion for nature and fine arts. Many of her felt designs stems from her childhood living in Poland; folk colours, first loves and rich, unspoilt flora. Igora’s embrace of Australia also echoes in her unique pieces which capture the beauty of the outback, wetlands and native Australian flora and fauna.
Water, Earth, Sky
by Georgia Wise and Anita Pusari
Emerging artists, Georgia Wise and Anita Pusari are inspired by the beauty and fragility of natural landscapes and Australian flora and fauna. Anita’s 2D paintings and Georgia’s textile pieces aim to create a wide sensory reflection of natural vegetation and man’s interaction with the earth. The mixed media content of these artworks helps to draw comparisons between animals, man and the earth, reflecting the beauty of our vast brown land and the resources we take from it.
Drawn Wild at the Zoo
by Terry Jackson
Terry (Theresa) Jackson is a self-taught artist with a passion for wildlife and nature. She works mainly with graphite (her favourite media) but does also branch out into pastels and coloured pencil work. Her aim is to display the beauty of our planet through some of the wildlife that inhabits it. Many of the animals she portrays are endangered in the wild and she believes it would be a tragedy to see even one more species lost.
