You can observe animals at Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park either online by using our live streams or on site. The Children’s University activities are suitable for ages 7-14 years.

Each student can claim up to four talks, with a total duration of up to two hours.
Explore like a real scientist by observing and recording your favourite animal’s behaviour! Choose from many different species that all call Adelaide Zoo home.
Download one or two activity sheets below and bring them along to the zoo. Don’t forget to bring a pencil or pen.
Get your CU Passport stamped back at school or at the info desk near the entrance after you have finished the animal activity.
Please note: Maximum time allocated to the learning activities is 30 minutes per activity with a maximum of 4 activity sheets per student.

At Monarto Safari Park you can get on one of our Zu-loop buses for a Safari tour around the Park. You will hear all about our amazing animals including environmental issues impacting them and their habitats.
When you have finished the tour, fill in your passport and go to the tours desk in the visitor centre for a stamp.
Children’s University Australasia and Africa (IO) is hosted and administered by Adelaide University at its City East Campus and is a not-for-profit, charitable arm of the University.
Children’s University offers unique learning experiences for children outside of the school environment and recognises achievements through the award of formal certificates. The model leverage’s local educational activity providers and has a strong emphasis on experience as a significant learning tool, acknowledging the value of the range of learning experiences and environments in which children engage.
Children’s University provides 7 to 14-year-olds (and 5 and 6-year-olds with their families and carers) with high-quality learning outside the normal school day. Learning destinations are places and organisations to which students can travel with their Children’s University passport to learning, a booklet similar to a real passport! CU at the Zoo focuses on animal behaviour, an important concept in scientific knowledge and practice. Students will build personal and social capabilities concerning conservation issues and positive actions that can be taken to save species from extinction.
