Valid student, pension or seniors cards can be used to receive discounted entry.

No. If your general admission ticket is booked for a specific date, you do not have to make a reservation. If you have an open dated ticket or a voucher please contact us on (08) 8267 3255 or fill in the Contact Form here to book for a specific date. If you have purchased a Two Visit Pass, you will be required to reserve a non-member reservation ticket for the day you are visiting.

Please select ‘Print Now’ as your delivery method to receive your tickets as an attachment via email.

If the date you would like to select is blacked out, this means that tickets are either sold out or not available yet. Entry tickets go on sale eight weeks in advance and commonly sell out.

Zoos SA members will need to show their member reservation ticket as well as their member card and photo ID to admissions staff before entering the Zoo or Park.

You will need to show your Concession Card and photo ID with your tickets at admissions before entering the Zoo or Park.

Adelaide Zoo is open from 9:30am – 5:00pm daily

Monarto Safari Park is open from:
1 December – 31 March: 9:00am – 4:30pm with last entry at 2:30pm
1 April – 30 November: 9:30am – 5:00pm with last entry at 3pm

Yes! Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park are open 365 days of the year including Christmas and all public holidays.

You cannot pat any of the animals at Monarto Safari Park. You can however pat goats and deer in our old Children’s Zoo area, located next to Penguin Bay at Adelaide Zoo. We also offer a range of behind-the-scenes animal experiences where you can get up close and personal to some of our amazing animals.

The buses run the Zoo Loop continuously throughout the day with a bus passing by each stop approximately every 30 minutes.

Monarto Safari Park will close when the SA County Fire Service declare a Catastrophic Fire Ban for the Murraylands Region, in order to protect our animals, visitors, volunteers and staff from the increased risk of fire hazards within the park.

Yes we do! You can find one of Australia’s most loved marsupials in our native section at Adelaide Zoo, just behind the Variety Children’s Zoo.

No, if you would like to visit Adelaide Zoo’s Giant Panda’s, Wang Wang and Fu Ni, this is included in your entry cost. We run daily Keeper talks at 1:15pm in Bamboo Forest.

Yes you can, however please remember that plastic straws and alcohol are prohibited within the Zoo and Park.

If you would like to visit the retail shop at Adelaide Zoo, simply ask the admissions staff to escort you through to our friendly retail staff. We will supply you with a 15 minute wristband that must be returned at the front gate and will need to record contact tracing information.

No, the cafés are only accessible to Zoo and Park visitors.

Zoos SA is unfortunately unable to allow assistance animals and guide dogs on site. Temporary accommodation for assistance dogs can be provided; however, it is recommended leaving service animals at home. If required, Zoos SA recommends visiting with a companion who can assist during your visit.

Unfortunately due to balloons posing a high choking risk to many of our animals, we do not allow balloons or plastic straws.

Alcohol is not permitted on site.

No, Annual Member cards are non-transferable. A Zoos SA Life Membership does however come with a transferable pass that can be used by any individual.

Yes, you will need to purchase a free member reservation ticket online in order to accurately measure the number of people within our sites. You can book your Adelaide Zoo tickets here and Monarto Safari Park tickets here and use the barcode of your membership card. Reservation tickets are date specific.

If you have recently purchased a Zoos SA Membership but have not received your Member Card, you can make a booking using the non-member reservation link found on our tickets pages. You can book your Adelaide Zoo tickets here and Monarto Safari Park tickets here.

Yes! If you join as a Zoos SA member within seven days of your visit, you can receive the individual cost of your admission off a new membership. To join, visit our Membership Hub at Adelaide Zoo or via phone on (08) 8267 3255.

You can sign up your child for a pro-rata Membership which will charge you based on the remainder of the rest of your Annual Membership. You can only do this at the Adelaide Zoo Membership Hub or via phone on (08) 8267 3255.

Parking

The Botanic Gardens of South Australia owns and operates all parking on Plane Tree Drive. Visitors have access to a number of 4-hour and 10-hour parking spaces. We recommend reviewing parking access and pricing through the Botanic Gardens website here.

Wilsons Parking on Frome Road also offer a special $7 flat rate for all-day parking for Zoo visitors on weekends.

All parking is FREE at Monarto Safari Park.

Entertainment Book vouchers can be redeemed by contacting our Bookings team using the Contact Form here or calling (08) 8267 3255. They can also be redeemed when purchasing a ticket at the front gates.

We provide a 10% discount to all DVA Card holders. This discount can only be applied by our Bookings team who can be contacted via bookings@zoossa.com.au or via phone on (08) 8267 3255.

Accessibility Information

The Botanic Gardens of South Australia owns and operates all parking on Plane Tree Drive and offers a number of accessible parking spaces close to the zoo main entrance. Visitors have access to a number of 4 and 10 hour parking spaces. You can review parking access through the Botanic Gardens website here.

Yes, you will need to pay. However, if you display your disabled permit in the car you are permitted to double the time that you pay for.

Yes, there are several buses that allow wheelchairs.

There are wheelchair accessible pathways and ramps from the Visitor Centre to the bus stops and surrounding area. However, the trails around the Safari Park are gravel/dirt so they may not be suitable for wheelchairs.

Zoos SA recognises the national Government issued Companion Card and Carer Australia Card. Free entry is offered for one carer accompanying the cardholder when using one of the approved cards below:

  • Government issued Carers Australia card for each Australian State
  • Government issued Companion Card for each Australian State
  • QLD Government Issued Carer Card
  • Government issued Foster Carer Card
  • SA Department for Education and Child Development
  • We Care Victoria Government Carer Card

 

How to book with a Companion Card online

Please note: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a date-specific ticket or reservation will be required for all visitors. The cardholder presenting one of the above-mentioned cards must purchase a ticket for themselves, then can reserve a ticket for their companion at no extra charge. Please visit our Adelaide Zoo or Monarto Safari Park tickets page to make a reservation or book your tickets. The date-specific ticket and companion/carers card must both be presented upon entry.
