Monarto Safari Park Tickets

At Monarto Safari Park, non-members must book their date-specific tickets online or over the phone. To ensure the very best experience on your visit, there are daily visitor caps in place. Be sure you pre-book to avoid disappointment!

Zoos SA Members, Life Members and reciprocal zoo members are not required to book for Monarto Safari Park, and are able to enter the park on any day of their choosing with their membership card and photo ID.

You can pre-book your date-specific tickets, or purchase a Zoos SA Membership, to guarantee your entry to Monarto Safari Park.

Without a pre-booked ticket or a Zoos SA Membership, we are unable to guarantee your entry to Monarto Safari Park.

Daily visitor numbers to Monarto Safari Park are capped, to ensure the very best visitor experience. By booking your date-specific tickets, you avoid disappointment of missing out!

Over recent years, with the opening of our world-class Visitor Centre and the expansion of the Park’s experience, we’ve seen demand increase.

To ensure that Monarto Safari Park continues to be an exceptional wild adventure for our guests, we’re introducing pre-booking requirements for non-members and a cap on daily visitor numbers. We want to make sure it’s memorable for all the right reasons, and that every visitor through our gates has a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature and experience all that we have to offer.

No. One of the many benefits of Zoos SA Membership is unlimited all-year round access to Monarto Safari Park and Adelaide Zoo.

A percentage of allocated spaces within our daily visitor cap are allocated for Zoos SA Members. Members will be able to access the park on any day of their choosing by presenting their valid membership card and photo ID.

If you are a Zoos SA Member planning your visit with non-members, you will need to ensure all guests have either a date-specific ticket or an annual membership, unless you are a Life Member using a transferable pass.

Life members with a transferable pass are not required to book for either themselves or the use of the transferable pass. You will be able to enter the park with your guest/s on any day of your choosing by presenting your membership card and photo ID.

Interstate reciprocal members are not required to book date-specific tickets. If you are a member of a partner zoo, you will be able to enter the park on any day of your choosing by presenting your valid zoo membership and photo ID to Admissions staff at the Visitor Centre upon arrival.

If you are a reciprocal member planning your visit with guests who are not reciprocal members, you will need to ensure those guests have either a date-specific ticket or a Zoos SA membership.

Yes. All non-members visiting Monarto Safari Park require a date-specific ticket. If your child is under 4 years of age, you will need to add a free cub ticket to your purchase.

Visiting Us

If you request to cancel an Animal Experience or date-specific General Admission ticket, the following conditions apply:

  • Seven (7) days or less to the stated ticket time: Refunds are not available. However, your booking may be rescheduled, or the value transferred to a Zoos SA voucher for future use.
  • Within 24 hours of the stated ticket time: No refunds, reschedules or transfers are available.

Adelaide Zoo is open from 9:30am – 5:00pm daily

Monarto Safari Park is open from 9:30am – 5:00pm daily, with the final Zuloop bus departing at 3:00pm

Yes! Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park are open 365 days of the year including Christmas and all public holidays.

Yes! We offer many exciting opportunities to get up close to some of our amazing animals. Imagine coming eye-to-eye with a rhino or experiencing the thrill of feeding a hungry tiger their lunch. You cannot pat any of the animals at Adelaide Zoo or Monarto Safari Park. We do offer a range of behind-the-scenes animal experiences at Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park where you can get up close and personal to some of our amazing animals.

The buses run the Zoo Loop continuously throughout the day with a bus passing by each stop approximately every 15-30 minutes.

Monarto Safari Park will close when the SA County Fire Service declare a Catastrophic Fire Ban for the Murraylands Region, in order to protect our animals, visitors, volunteers and staff from the increased risk of fire hazards within the park.

Yes you can, however please remember that plastic straws and alcohol are prohibited within the Zoo and Park.

If you would like to visit the retail shop at Adelaide Zoo, simply ask the admissions staff to escort you through to our friendly retail staff. We will supply you with a 15 minute wristband that must be returned at the front gate.

The retail shop at Monarto Safari Park’s new Visitor Centre is accessible to the public without entering the Park

The cafés at Adelaide Zoo are only accessible to Zoo visitors.

The café at Monarto Safari Park’s new Visitor Centre is accessible to the public without purchasing entry to the Park.

Assistance Dogs can visit Adelaide Zoo between the hours of 10.30am – 3pm. Assistance Dogs must be accredited See Differently Assistance Dogs to visit the zoo. Please visit the Assistance Animal application on the Adelaide Zoo website for more information.

At this early stage in the assistance animal program, assistance animals and guide dogs are not allowed at Monarto Safari Park. Temporary accommodation for assistance dogs can be provided; however, it is recommended leaving service animals at home. If required, Zoos SA recommends visiting with a companion who can assist during your visit.

Balloons posing a high choking risk to many of our animals. We do not allow balloons or plastic straws.

Alcohol is not permitted on site.

Parking

The Botanic Gardens of South Australia owns and operates all parking on Plane Tree Drive. Visitors have access to a number of 4-hour and 10-hour parking spaces. We recommend reviewing parking access and pricing through the Botanic Gardens website here.

Wilsons Parking on Frome Road also offer a special $7 flat rate for all-day parking for zoo visitors on weekends.

All parking is free at Monarto Safari Park.

Membership

Purchase

At checkout, you can select to pick up your membership pack from Adelaide Zoo, or you can choose to have this posted to a nominated address. A postage fee applies.

If you have selected for your membership card to be posted out, please allow up to approximately 10 business days for cards to be printed and posted. Please note, there may be delays during holiday seasons and sale and promotional periods. All packs are sent via Australia Post. Please refer to auspost.com.au for the most up-to-date delivery time estimates.

If you have selected to pick up your membership card from Adelaide Zoo, please allow up to 5 business days for cards to be printed and ready for collection. All new members will receive an SMS notification to their nominated contact number once their card is ready for collection.

Cards can be collected by a person nominated by yourself; providing they have the appropriate evidence or documentation.

  • Email from the primary member on the account confirming this has been agreed.
  • Evidence the person collecting lives at the address listed on the membership

Yes, concessions apply for card holders or Pension, Health or Senior Cards and full-time students aged 15 years and over. Proof of concession is required.

A $25 joining fee per household applies to new or lapsed annual Zoos SA memberships.

We offer free cub memberships for children under the age of 4. These memberships must be linked to at least one fee paying membership and cubs must be accompanied by an adult at all times when visiting. Cub membership cards are only valid at Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park and can be presented to receive discounts at the retail shops and cafes.

Yes! Please visit the Adelaide Zoo Membership Hub or Info Hut at Monarto Safari Park to purchase or renew your membership and enjoy a year of unlimited access.

Yes! We can deduct the cost of a general admission ticket off a new annual membership. You can apply this by visiting the Membership Hub or by contacting the membership team on [email protected] or (08) 8267 3255 within 7 days of your visit. A valid entry receipt must be provided. Admissions must be of an equivalent value than the membership they are to be discounted from. For example, the maximum discount for a child membership is a child admission fee.

General membership information

Your member number can be found on the front of your membership card underneath your name. If you haven’t received your card just yet, you can find this on your confirmation email.

If you have linked your membership to your login, you will be able to see when your membership expires under the Memberships tab.
If you do not have your membership linked, you can call our friendly booking staff who can look it up for you.

If you have linked your membership to your login, you can edit your contact details using the Edit Account Information on the Contact Information tab.If you do not have your membership linked, you can call our friendly bookings staff who will update your details for you.

If you have lost your membership card, we can organise a new one for you. Simply call (08) 8267 3255 to request a new card. Replacement card cost is $10.00 per card and must be payable at time of order. You can arrange for your new card to be delivered to you for a postage fee, or you can pick this up for free from the Adelaide Zoo Membership Hub. Replacement cards must be collected within 3 months.

Please call (08) 8267 3255 to change and update information relating to your membership.

You can sign up your child for a pro-rata membership which will charge you based on the remainder of the rest of your Annual Membership. You can only do this at the Adelaide Zoo Membership Hub or via phone on (08) 8267 3255.

Zoos SA memberships that expire will enter a lapsed phase for a 3-month period after expiry. Memberships renewed after this 3-month lapsed phase will be charged the re-join fee of $25 per household.

Visiting

Yes, photo identification presented at the gates will need to match the member name or access will not be granted.

Your membership is active as soon as you purchase it. Please visit the Membership Hub at Adelaide Zoo or the Info Hut at Monarto Safari Park with your membership purchase receipt or order confirmation email to gain access.

Annual Zoos SA memberships are non-transferable so the identity registered at the time of purchase cannot be changed. A valid photo ID is required to gain admission to Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park.

Zoos SA Life Members receive a bonus transferable pass as part of their membership benefits, which can be used by one other adult or two children on any visit. This transferable pass is only valid in South Australia at Adelaide Zoo or Monarto Safari Park.

Yes. You will be required to visit the Membership Hub at Adelaide Zoo or the Info Hut at Monarto Safari Park and show a valid photo ID to receive a temporary access pass for the day.

Zoos SA recognises reciprocal membership rights of the following Australian zoos:

  • Taronga Conservation Society of Australia (Taronga Zoo and Taronga Western Plains Zoo)
    • All adult/concession members can enjoy free entry.
    • All children members are required to pay normal admission to enter.
  • Perth Zoo
    • All Perth Zoo members can enjoy free entry.
  • Zoos Victoria (Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary, Kyabram Wildlife Park)
    • All adult/concession members can enjoy free entry.
    • All children members who live outside of SA can enjoy free entry. Zoos Victoria child members residing in SA will be required to pay normal admission to enter.

Members enjoy free entry to Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park by providing a valid interstate member card (physical or digital) and a valid photo ID.

Access is subject to any terms and conditions of entry imposed by the owners or operators of such zoos.

Entertainment Book vouchers can be redeemed by contacting our Bookings team using the Contact Form here or calling (08) 8267 3255. They can also be redeemed when purchasing a ticket at the front gates.

We provide a 10% discount for entry to Adelaide Zoo and/or Monarto Safari Park to holders of Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold, White and Orange Veteran Cards. This discount can be applied by our Bookings team who can be contacted on (08) 8267 3255 or [email protected]

Accessibility Information

At Adelaide Zoo, the Botanic Gardens of South Australia owns and operates all parking on Plane Tree Drive and offers a number of accessible parking spaces close to the zoo main entrance. Visitors have access to a number of 4 and 10 hour parking spaces. You can review parking access through the Botanic Gardens website here.

At Monarto Safari Park, there are many free accessible parking spaces close to the Visitor Centre.

 

Yes, you will need to pay. However, if you display your disabled permit in the car you are permitted to double the time that you pay for.

Yes, there are several buses that allow wheelchairs.

There are wheelchair accessible pathways and ramps from the Visitor Centre to the bus stops and surrounding area. However, the trails around the Safari Park are gravel/dirt so they may not be suitable for wheelchairs.

Assistance Dogs can visit Adelaide Zoo between the hours of 10.30am – 3pm. Assistance Dogs must be accredited See Differently Assistance Dogs to visit the zoo. Please visit the Assistance Animal application on the Adelaide Zoo website for more information.
