Zambia is one of the most wildlife rich countries in Africa. The Zambian Carnivore Program is focussed on the conservation of large carnivore species such as the African Wild Dog, Cheetah, lion, leopard, hyena, their prey and the habitat they rely on. Conservation activities include research, education, monitoring, reintroductions and alleviating human and carnivore conflict. Zoos SA has supported these activities through fundraising via its MAD campaign.
Painted Dog Conservation supports projects focussed on research addressing threats, education and capacity building in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibia.
