Stampede expected as Ambleside Distillers launch Kifaru Gin with all profits to Zoos SA rhino and wildlife conservation projects

Hahndorf’s Ambleside Distillers is to sell a limited 600 bottles of Kifaru Gin with all profits going to rhino conservation and the recovery and rehabilitation of bushfire affected wildlife via Zoos SA.

“We are very happy to be working once again with Zoo’s SA on this project to help raise money to protect beautiful but endangered animals,” said Ambleside Distillers’ founder Matt Dickson.

“With native mintbush and wattleseed sourced from Monarto Safari Park’s cultivated crop this is one tipple that’s truly ‘wild at heart’.

“This year, we have chosen to split the profits between three very worthy causes: Zoo’s SA Rhino Quarantine and Management Centre at Monarto Safari Park, SANParks Honorary Rangers (of which Zoos SA supports) and the recovery of native wildlife and habitat affected by SA bushfires,” said Matt.

Ambleside Distillers’ Kifaru (which means rhino is Swahili) is complex with hints of herbaceous mintbush and notes of coffee, chocolate and hazelnut from roasted Wattleseed – delivering on taste and all for a wonderful cause.

“Using these native ingredients adds another layer to this product. We were lucky to use two native botanicals that were cultivated and hand-picked by the staff at Monarto Safari Park,” added Matt.

With only 600 bottles of the limited edition Kifaru Gin produced, there’s sure to be a stampede. Last year Ambleside Distillers Kifaru gin sold out with the organisation donating over $33,000 to Zoos SA’s conservation efforts through the sales.

Ambleside Distillers’ Matt Dickson suggests serving Kifaru Gin straight, on the rocks, with a dash of tonic and with the knowledge that you’re helping to turn hope for rhinos and native animals into a reality.

Bottles of Kifaru Gin will go on sale on Saturday 8 February via the Ambleside website https://www.amblesidedistillers.com/

Ambleside Distillers’ Kifaru Gin costs $119.
