Add a cheeky monkey to your family this Mother’s Day
Mums are a special breed – they give us unconditional love and support, teach us right from wrong and put up with our mischievous ways. Life wouldn’t be the same without them. Support amazing mums like yours by adopting a White-cheeked Gibbon or Chimpanzee. It’s a great way to say thanks for putting up with your cheeky antics, and it also ensures these animals’ wild cousins stay a swing ahead of extinction. After all, there’s only so many breakfasts in bed, flowers or knickknacks you can give your mum to show her you care on Mother’s Day!
All White-cheeked Gibbon and Chimpanzee adopters will also receive a $20 Haigh’s Chocolates voucher.
Order by Monday 4 May to ensure you receive your gift in time for Mother’s Day.
White-cheeked Gibbon Viet is the first successful mum in her family line. She’s the proud mum of two girls – three year old Nhu and one year old Tien. She’s the perfect role model, teaching her girls the finer points of gibbon life.
White-cheeked Gibbons are classified as critically endangered in the wild due to a declining trend in their population by at least 80% over the past 45 years. This is due primarily to deforestation for human settlement, agriculture and the commercial timber trade, and poaching for the wildlife trade.
Treat mum this Mother’s Day by adopting a White-cheeked Gibbon and help ensure Viet’s wild cousins stay a swing ahead of extinction.
In August 2012, Chimpanzee Zombi gave birth to Monarto’s first ever chimp infant. At birth little Zuri was completely reliant on her mum, now at almost three years of age she’s much more independent but still needs mum’s reassurance and guidance, and lots of hugs of course! Zombi has proven to be an amazing mum, teaching Zuri everything she needs to know to thrive in an active, loud and very boisterous chimp troop.
Chimpanzees are our closest living relative, sharing approximately 98.7% of our DNA. Chimpanzees are classified as an endangered species with approximately 150,000 to 300,000 chimps remaining in the wild. Chimpanzees face many threats in the wild including habitat loss due to logging, mining, unsustainable palm oil plantations and population growth, they are hunted for the bushmeat trade and are captured for the illegal wildlife trade.
Treat mum this Mother’s Day by adopting a Chimpanzee and help ensure Zombi’s wild cousins stay a swing ahead of extinction.
