Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park temporarily close to the public during second COVID-19 lockdown

Friends, we’re closing our doors again.

In response to yesterday’s announcement from SA Health and the State Government, Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park will be closed to the public from 5pm today for the next 6 days and until we are advised by SA Health that it’s safe to reopen.

It will, of course, be business as usual for our essential keeping staff who will continue to care for and enrich the lives of our animals.

Please note, the phone room and membership counter will be closed for a minimum of six days as we cannot have non-essential staff on site to attend to the phones.

Any patrons who have existing bookings that fall during the closure period including tickets, encounters, experiences, Zoo Learning programs or other events will be re-booked or refunded following the end of the current restrictions when our Visitor Services team are able to return to work.

Zoos SA Members will have their memberships automatically extended for the duration of our closure if we’re required to remain closed for longer than 14 days.

We appreciate your patience, support and kindness as we continue to ensure the health and safety of the Zoos SA community.

Please direct any questions to our contact form and we will respond as soon as we can.

Never fear though! While everyone is staying safe at home we’re still making sure you get a healthy dose of animal magic in your day.

Stay connected to our incredible animals with your favourite recorded keeper talks revisited, activities for the kids and plenty of wild photos, videos and fun facts!

If that’s not enough, head on over to our Zoo To You page which is filled with pawesome animal videos, colouring-in pages and ways to learn about conservation.

And don’t forget about our live streams! Check in on Adelaide Zoo’s Giant Pandas Wang Wang and Fu Ni as well as Monarto Safari Park’s cheeky chimps and Southern White Rhino Ibutho any time you like, day or night.

So keep an eye out for further updates, stay safe at home with our animals online and we can’t wait to see you soon.
