This lesson introduces students to the ecosystem and habitat requirements of elephants and engages them in designing an enclosure that meets these needs. Through sensory exploration, habitat comparison, and behavioural observations, students develop insights into how environmental features support elephant wellbeing. The session culminates in an enrichment design activity, where students create an idea to enhance the habitat based on observed behaviours.
Teachers will be given access to pre- and post-session lesson booklets which they can use to extend the learning gained from the day.
This program will be available from June 2025
