Join the Safe Cat, Safe Wildlife community!

We’re excited to be part of Safe Cat, Safe Wildife, a joint initiative between Zoos Victoria and RSPCA Victoria, to build a community of cat owners who have the tools to keep their cats safe and enriched at home.

Zoos SA is proud to be working with RSPCA South Australia to present this information.

With the proper care, you can provide your furry friend with a safe and enriching environment at home and the more time they spend at home, the safer they are from cars, cat fights and disease.

  • 9M pet cats provide love and companionship to Australians
  • 2 out of 3 cats in Australia are left to roam
  • 9 in 10 cats who go missing from homes are never reunited with their owners

Around 46% of Australia’s threatened wildlife can be found in cities so by keeping cats safe at home, you’re also helping to protect unique and endangered native wildlife.

Keeping your cat safe and happy

Cat enclosures are a great way to provide a safe outdoor experience for your indoor cat (and are great for other pets too!).

Well-designed enclosures give the best of both worlds to your pet and with plenty of opportunity for increased enrichment.

Zoos SA have been working with Adelaide-based CatPad enclosures, to create a display at Monarto Safari Park (and coming soon at Adelaide Zoo). The CatPad team consider your property and the personality of your cat in their custom-built designs.
