On the 26th of May our YATZ group had a careers workshop during which we a few guests spoke to us about their jobs in conservation. These are some who’s jobs really opened my eyes when it comes to the world of conservation. I will share three inspirations
- Brett Haby spoke to us about his work being a presenter at Adelaide Zoo and how he helps to teach people about conservation and how it is important to teach people about the animals that are in the shows that him and his team present all whilst walking around with an olive python that almost everyone loved.
- Mark Mills who is the Senior Ungulate Keeper at Monarto Safari Park who mostly spoke to us about the amazing work he did in Africa at a sanctuary that takes in orphaned rhino calf with a program called Care for wild Africa including an incredible video of him making a calf fall to sleep whilst playing the guitar
- Patrick hedges who showed us a collection of his wildlife which he does using scratch boards and talked about his inspirational life growing up traveling around Africa . It was inspiring.
