“I want to make it happen, I want to make it happen…” were the thoughts that circulated my mind as I wrote how the day of ‘Bright Patterns Day’ was going to happen and become.
Each sentence was an idea.
“There will be a ‘Bright Patterns Day’ at school where everyone will wear a bright patterned shirt to remind ourselves who we are working towards for – the students of Zambia…
Each class will have an assigned Zambian student that will be working towards, visit each classroom and share. Yes.” Where passion starts, ideas flow and I thought of this fine day endlessly. I shared my ideas with the conservation class and the social justice team of the college – they were all on board and they had my back as well as the ones we’re rooting for on the other side of the world; and a magical girl, a true college captain, Tarni, had made each idea I had for the fundraiser, a reality. Constant organising and working, meetings with the board, she wanted to make it happen just like I did. Because of her and everyone that was on board, it had become a truly bright patterned day, raising $1451.85!
