MATZ Intensives

Over the period of two intensive overnights; MATZ have been busy planning and preparing for our life changing adventure to Zambia. Our overnight spent at Monarto Safari Park, on the 24th to 25th of March, consisted of MATZ getting an in-depth lesson about ZoosSA’s Priority Conservation Projects and Partnerships, our communities’ conservation direction and “An Insider’s guide to the Zambian way”. Although it was an information overload initially; this overnight was essential, as now we as a family, can fully immerse and enjoy ourselves whilst living in Zambia.

Our overnight spent at Adelaide Zoo, on the 28th to 29th of April was primarily spent preparing different aspects of our trip. We split into mini groups, tackling different tasks; which included; finding, formatting and making badges representative of ZoosSA’s Conservation projects with the aim to give them out as prizes to the Zambian students, preparing a speech and PowerPoint presentation about our Tisamale Global Exchange that will be presented to the Volunteers and finally we prepared a rough outline of what our three weeks in Zambia will look like. We have all loved every single moment and I speak on behalf of all of us when I say; that it’s all starting to feel very real and we are excited!
