We can breathe now. The stress is over. Tisamale Quiz night has finished. But not only did it just ‘finish’, it triumphed.
My role on quiz night was to make sure everyone had the chance to buy raffle tickets and to offer support for patrons, which was usually them asking for hints about the answers, as a so called ‘floater’. This role allowed me to see all of the joy on people’s faces as they searched all crevices in their brain in order to answer the challenging, yet entertaining, questions. This was one of the many highlights of the night for me.
Another benefit of being a floater was that I was given the chance to see the night from the audience’s perspective. I was absent for most of the quiz planning sessions, which benefited me as I got to see the quiz night grow from a seed into a beautiful tree with beautifully decorated tables, intriguing music questions, glamorous prizes, that made us MATZ wish we were contestants too, and many, many patrons. This still makes me so thankful of all of the hard work that everyone put into making this night wonderful! You all definitely blew me away!
