Workshop ‘Team building’

The YATZ members gathered together for their first workshop at Adelaide Zoo, slowly arriving at gate 3 in the beautiful weather. The Gibbons of Adelaide zoo calling out to each other and Banks the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo adding to the chorus of lorikeets and other birds. Our first activities took place on the lawns of the botanical park near the zoo. Games that built our trust with each other and tested our teamwork skills were our challenge, team ‘stripes’ ended up showing the most skill in the end and earned themselves stamps that could contribute to earning a big prize at the end of the year. Our next activity was an amazing race around the zoo, where we had to answer various questions that could be found across the zoo, as well as collect rubbish and things like rocks and sticks that met the requirements on the list. Team ‘spots’ ended up winning as they picked up many pieces of rubbish.
