The temporary closure of the zoo and the country going into lock down proved to be a challenge for the mentor team. We had to come up with ways to bring the ‘At The Zoo’ from ‘Youth At The Zoo’ to everyone at home.

To keep the spirit alive, an online YATZ website was created: https://yatzonline.wixsite.com/yatz

The website allows YATZ  to immerse themselves in animal/environmental related activities, as well as some fun side projects as well!

One of the main attractions on the website is the ‘Zoom’ page, where links and information to Masterclasses run by mentors is found. Using Zoom, has allowed Mentors to engage  YATZ in a fun manner while being able to share knowledge in the comfort of our own home. So far the topics have ranged from learning about ecosystems and marine life, to important life skills such as self confidence and public speaking.
